| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Looft Industries of Sweden is proud to announce the arrival in the USA of the new Looftlighter® - the fire-lighting tool now celebrated throughout Scandinavia as a long overdue replacement for barbecue lighter fluid. Developed by Swedish inventor and impresario, Richard Looft, the Looftlighter® ignites wood or charcoal in less than 60 seconds with its patented hot airstream process. It has finally made charcoal barbecue preparation quick, clean, safe and easy, without the need for lighter fluids. Igniting fires and BBQs takes just a few seconds. In 2007, 15,900 children 5 and younger were exposed to hydrocarbons including lighter fluids, according to the Annual Report of the Association of Poison Control Centers' National Poison Data System (NPDS): 25th Annual Report.
Also according to U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's National Electronic Injury Surveillance System in 2007, 18,600 patients visited emergency rooms because of injuries involving grills. Gasoline or lighter fluid was a factor in roughly one-quarter of the charcoal or wood burning grill burns - www.NFPA.org.

| Customer Reviews: Perfect for lighting one piece of charcoal every 60 seconds. July 19, 2010 Nathan L Sugg (Vancouver, WA United States) This little novelty is a pretty cool idea, but it's actual use kinda sucks. It lights charcoal perfectly well but will only do one piece at a time. This means you have to stand there and light piece after piece and then somehow stack your new charcoal on top of the ones that are already lit. This is a difficult task when you have several white hot pieces of charcoal roarin' already. I think typical element type lighters work far better.
Must tool for Barbeque Aficionados! May 1, 2010 Steve in DC (Wash DC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Makes firing up wood chips and coals quick and easy without using starters. Two negatives are that it uses a great deal of energy and would cause my house lights to flicker (strain on the electrical system) and the first one I bought died on me after only 12 months of usage. Still, worth the money.
